It’s the weekend! HURRAH! And it marks the first Saturday in my 30 Days of Christmas Shopping Guide. Today I will be sharing a gift, which I encourage you to go and get in person but that you can also buy online.
Hoxton Street Monster Supplies goods
In Hoxton there’s a shop. Not any old shop. A monster shop! 159 Hoxton Street is the home of London’s only functioning monster supplies store selling a whole range of everyday products for the modern monster. But that’s not all. 159 Hoxton Street is also the secret location for Ministry of Stories, a charity providing free writing workshops for local children not only helping them improve their reading and writing skills but their confidence too. All sales in the monster store go straight into the Ministry so everything you buy will help fund the charity! ADDED BONUS!
So on to the gifts. These products will make great stocking fillers, secret Santas and there are one or two slightly bigger ones that would make great, interesting and fun gifts.
My top suggestions are:
Tins of Fear £8 each
Each tin have a story written by a famous author that will evokes the emotion denoted on the tin. Great as a stocking filler or a secret Santa gift.
BAH! Humbugs £4
The Awfully Bad Guide to Monster Housekeeping £3 per book or £10 for all 4
These books were written by some of the junior ministers (the youngsters that attend the workshops) with help from some notable poets and illustrated by a pretty talented bunch.
Sun and Moon Jars £20 each
Solar power jars that give an eerie glow when the sun goes down.
All of these beautiful, fun and clever products can be found in store with a whole host of other spectacular gifts.
If you don’t live in London do not fear! The monster store recently launched an online store so you can make all your monstrously good purchases here!
The monster shop is open from Tuesdays – Saturdays and well worth a visit. So if you’re in the area or don’t have much planned on the Saturdays running up to Christmas (and beyond) go and have a look, you won’t regret it.
