30 Days of Christmas Shopping: Day 25, Slanket

Only a week to go and the countdown has really begun. Today’s gift isn’t sexy, it’s not glamorous but it is something practical that any recipient will be grateful for. So if you’re stuck for a gift for your mum, brother, grandparent or housemate, keep reading.

Slanket

There’s no beating around the bush. It’s cold! It’s cold and with energy costs going up or if you’re like me and your heating doesn’t work it’s getting even colder. The scary thing is, it’s not even winter yet. So what gift would be better than a super warm, super comfortable, super convenient warming device?

Last year I received a Slanket. Everyone’s seen the parody video making them sound hideous but I didn’t and don’t care. I love my Slanket. It’s warm, I can read a book without my arms getting cold, I can go and make a cup of tea without taking the blanket off; it’s the dream winter companion.

There are different types of sleeved blankets including Snuggies but after some research I can happily tell you that the warm, fleecy Slanket is the best option. You can purchase them from many online shops including: Amazon, Firebox, Find Me A Gift and Prezzybox. They range in price depending on colour and stockist. You can also buy them in store in shops like John Lewis for roughly the same price.

As I say, this isn’t a flashy or fashionable gift but it is a homely gift. Grandparents will love them, housemates will rub the fact that they’re nice and warm in your face and everyone will wonder how they lived without it before. It’s a great go to gift if you’re struggling for ideas but I would put it on the top of my list.

  1. Slankets are really cool! They might seem a bit daft, and they’re obviously not life changing, but it definitely makes curling up with a book a lot easier when it’s so cold in the house that exposing any bare skin is a recipe for frostbite, haha.
