Great stocking fillers from ParamountZone: Reusable Heat Pads

I don’t know about you but I get cold really easily. With the wintery chills setting in and the walks home seeming to get longer, no amount of wool can make me feel warmer. That’s why I was super excited when I was sent a Reusable Heat Pad courtesy of Paramount Zone.

My week with cats: an introduction to Eat, Sleep, Sniff

I have been trapped in the house this week. It’s not a status I find too distressing; I have Twitter to keep me company and a little fluffy beast of a cat to cuddle. I’m not just being antisocial or a bit of a hermit. Last weekend’s trip to the hospital really took it out of me and after trying to live a normal life on Monday, I realised that that wasn’t going to happen unless I rested. I am still covered in bruises (I honestly look like I’ve been beaten) and my kidney infection is still causing me a lot of grief but I have been trying to keep my spirits up. Continue reading

Wanting what I can’t have: the wish list

Since I am trying not to spend any money at the moment I am torturing myself with a list of wants. These items are my desperate wishes but obviously the list is far vaster. Each coveted item will be accompanied by promo shots so this will be a very picture heavy blog post. Come, come drool with me. Continue reading

Valentine’s Day Gift Idea: Lots of Love from Lush

If you haven’t guessed it yet, I’m not a massive fan of Valentine’s Day. It’s not that I’m bitter because I have a wonderful boyfriend but it’s just a holiday that is too close to Christmas and puts too much pressure on a couple. But saying that, I have seen some lovely things that are fun, practical and still thoughtful to give your loved one this Valentine’s Day. Today’s gift is a simple delight for any girl. Valentine’s Day Gift Suggestions – Chocolate Making Class

Valentine’s Day is coming up. A day of red hearts, cheap teddies and boiling resentment. I don’t particularly like Valentine’s Day and think of it in the same way I think of NYE – too much hype for a pretty average day. But being in a couple means that it’s an excuse to do something nice together or maybe get that present you forgot at Christmas or to form a united front against Valentine’s Day, all positive things. Who am I kidding? I love receiving presents (because I have the emotional maturity of a five year old) so sometimes Valentine’s can be ok, kind of. From now until the “big day” I will be making some gift suggestions to help you along… just in case you’re a bit stuck. Continue reading

A little bit of Chanel goes a long way… Black Satin Nail Colour review

After doing some intense housework I broke one of my talons. I was quite upset as it split down to the nail bed and unless I wanted to file my nails into horrid pointed claws (I know they’re still on the cusp of being “in” but they are pretty horrendous) I had to cut them all down. Two months of growth and maintenance down the drain and it was actually physically painful to cut them. The main reason I was sad was because I was planning on giving myself an at home, DIY Chanel mani for my birthday. With a slightly heavy heart, I accepted my little, stumpy nails and decided to do it anyway. Continue reading

My Christmas Beauty Box

Hello my lovelies! I hope you had a lovely Christmas break and that all those that celebrate Christmas received all they wished for. Sorry for my radio silence over the festive days but I had some spoilt little rugrats nipping at my ankles all weekend… and that was just my brother! I haven’t had a chance to cook or do my nails or try any new products over the past couple of days so I thought I’d give you a sneak peak into impending beauty reviews all thanks to Santa. Continue reading
